Do not allow certain substances to come into contact with the stone

There are some substances that you never want to let come into contact with your stone. This includes anything that is acidic or alkaline. Example of this would include vinegar, wine, and lemon juice, but note that these are just a few examples – there are many other acidic and alkaline substances that could damage your stone. You also do not want to let nail polish, hair dye, or hair spray come into contact with your stone.

Be careful what you clean with

Never clean with brown or green scouring pads. The grit in them is abrasive and could potentially scratch even the hardest stone. Likewise, do not use bathroom cleaners, general-purpose cleaners, bleach, ammonia, dish soap, vinegar, tub cleaner, or tile cleaner or your stone. Watch heavy objects

You do not want to drag heavy objects across a floor made from stone. You do not want to put a wet bottle, whether perfume, after shave, etc., on a bathroom countertop made out of stone. Your cosmetics and fragrances should stay in their property containers. In fact, when in the bathroom, make sure that there is no standing water around your sink. Standing water won’t be an issue immediately but it can deteriorate stone over time. As a result, you should also not let plants sit on the countertops. Doing so could allow the water to soak through and eventually stain the countertop.
